SALT LAKE CITY – Regence Insurance Services President Jared Short announced today the appointment of Jennifer B. Danielson to the position of President of Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah. She will be responsible for guiding Regence’s market operations in Utah, securing new business and growing all of our targeted segments. Jennifer’s appointment is effective June 1, 2012. She replaces current President Bob Hatch who is retiring. “Jennifer has been an important and dynamic member of Regence’s senior Utah team, leading critical business development activities in a complex health care environment,” said Short. “Her ability to facilitate collaboration in a rapidly changing industry, coupled with her respected leadership in the community, makes her ideally suited for this role.” A Utah native, Jennifer joined the company in 1997 and has an extensive health insurance and policy background from previous positions held with Regence in leading the public policy division and on the legal team, as well as with the U.S. Surgeon General’s Office, the Utah Department of Health and the Utah Attorney General’s Office Health Division. Jennifer has served as the past president of the Utah Health Insurance Association and currently serves on the Board of Governors for the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce, Secretary/Treasurer for the University of Utah Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees, the Board of Directors of the Regence Foundation, the Board of Trustees for the Utah Foundation, HealthInsight and the American Heart Association, and is an avid supporter of Pioneer Theater Company.
