Employer mandate: big savings may prompt shift from corporate to individual plans in 2015 (Report)
More than 3 million people receive employer health benefits through private exchanges. Last March, Regence Health Insurance Services announced plans to launch a new private exchange for businesses of 100 employees or more in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Utah. It was also to become available to smaller employers later in the year. It works similar to a 401(k) retirement plan, with employers contributing a set amount to employees' accounts, who can then shop for a plan online in the Regence Marketplace.
