Don Antonucci appointed President, BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon

Antonucci assumes Oregon leadership position effective immediately

PORTLAND, Ore. – Regence is pleased to announce the appointment of Don Antonucci to the position of President, Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon.
 
In his new role, Don will continue to direct efforts in expanding Regence’s existing position of leadership within a dynamic Oregon market. With a sharp focus on understanding and responding to the evolving needs of members, he will guide Regence’s growth and service in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
 
“Don has shown strong leadership within our organization and within the community. His deep knowledge of our complex health care environment is a direct reflection of his extensive background in sales, research, marketing, and policy,” said Jared Short, Regence group executive vice president of health insurance services. “He understands the evolving needs of our members and our company, and his appointment will serve both well.”
 
Don has been serving in this new role on an interim basis for the past month, while continuing to direct the Oregon Sales Team as vice president of sales. As he assumes this permanent position, he will begin an immediate search for a new sales vice president.
 
Don joined Regence in March 2010 with more than 16 years in the health insurance industry, including positions with WellPoint, Inc. / Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, Mathematica Policy Research, and HIP Health Plan of New York.
 
Originally from New York, Don has an undergraduate degree from the State University of New York College at Cortland, and he earned a master’s degree in Public Policy Analysis and Administration from Binghamton University.
