Annual employee giving week showcases the generosity of Regence employees
From Giving Tuesday (Nov. 28) to Dec. 1, Regence and our corporate foundation organized the annual “Celebration of Giving,” to celebrate employees and the ways they give back their time, treasure and talent. Festivities kicked off with a 100% match on all employee donations distributed during the campaign, an increase from the 50% match provided year-round. Regence also hosted virtual volunteer events where for every hour volunteered, employees were given $20 to direct to a nonprofit organization of their choice.
Employees generated $518,000 in charitable contributions and tracked 2,800 volunteer hours to 1,520 nonprofits over the four-day campaign. “I’m happy to share that we more than doubled the dollars donated this year compared to last year,” said Peggy Maguire, president of Cambia Health Foundation, Regence’s corporate foundation.
At Regence, we believe in the power of good—giving back is good for the community and your health. Our employees rally around this culture of giving and we celebrate their generosity. We are continually inspired by Regence employees and how they show up for their local communities.
Adrean Cavener, Regence’s director of public affairs and government relations in Idaho, likes to challenge herself while supporting an important cause. “I lost my dad seven years ago to Alzheimer’s,” Cavener says. “All of the things that people love about me are the things they loved about my dad. So much of my personality is him – I am his kid. So as a tribute to him, I have dedicated my life to the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association – to build a world free of Alzheimer’s and all other dementias.”
Cavener joined Regence after serving as the executive director of the Alzheimer's Association, Idaho Chapter. It was important for her to stay involved with the Alzheimer's Association and find a company that would support this work. She found that support at Regence taking part in programs run by our corporate foundation, such as the board engagement program, volunteer rewards and charitable donation matching to enhance her support.
“I cannot tell you what it means to me to not only have my employer’s support but that all my expectations around that support have been exponentially exceeded. What a joy this has been,” says Cavener.
