Join Regence for the 38th annual Cascade Cycling Classic

After coming down from the high of participating in the inaugural Hood to Coast event in Washington, it’s time to start back up again for the Cascade Cycling Classic. Although this is a long-standing tradition in Bend, Oregon, this will be my first year attending the race. However, I won’t be going alone! My family will be joining me and we’re looking forward to the fun atmosphere that this race provides. We're also looking forward to getting back to one of our favorite areas and experiencing the beauty of Bend and Central Oregon while getting the chance to see world-class cyclists and teams.

While I’m looking forward to witnessing a group of athletes at the pinnacle of their sport, my daughter Lily is excited to try and set a PR in the Kid’s Bike Ride on Sunday, and my son Dylan can’t wait to help hand out some of the awards following the race on Saturday night. My wife Tia and I are also looking forward to the amazing food (and beverages...) Bend has to offer and the fast-paced Downtown Twilight Criterium, where the cyclists’ race through downtown Bend.  If you’re in Bend on the evening of Saturday, July 22nd, please make plans to come out and join us in supporting the riders!

The Cascade Cycling Classic is the longest consecutively run elite stage race in the country and is now in its 38th year. We have a long-standing commitment to Bend, and love seeing the community come alive every July during the Classic, when nearly 10,000 spectators gather in the tight-knit community to cheer on the participants. Volunteers dedicate countless hours of their time and citizens of Bend open their doors to host riders in their own homes.
