For many children in the greater Portland area, a holiday filled with toys seems just out of reach. That’s why it’s more important than ever to support the 17th annual KGW’s Great Toy Drive.

Kicking off on Nov. 19, the month-long event invites the community to collect toys for kids and families in need. Over the years, the KGW Great Toy Drive has collected more than a million toys, bringing smiles and cheer to children during the holidays.

Regence is proud to be a long-time sponsor of the KGW Great Toy Drive. Dedicated to upholding our nonprofit values and embedded community roots, our employees look forward to participating each year, challenging coworkers to collect toys and volunteer at the collection events held during this month-long campaign.

The 2019 KGW Great Toy Drive kicked off with its annual Toy Dash earlier this month, as volunteers raced against the clock to each collect $1,000 worth of toys to give directly to kids. Regence employee Vanessa Lyons and her children, Connor and Luci, represented “Team Regence,” collecting toys that will be donated to 130 local nonprofits participating in the Toy Drive this year.

“At Regence, we’re all about neighbor helping neighbor,” said Vanessa Lyons, manager of renewals at Regence. “It’s incredible to see our community come out to support each other each year and make the holidays brighter for families this season.”

Donating new, unwrapped toys during the KGW Great Toy Drive is a simple way to make this season special for children in our community.

The KGW Great Toy Drive begins on Nov. 19 and runs through Dec. 17. Here’s how you can get involved:

  • Pick up new, unwrapped toys and deliver them to a Toy Drop location near you, or mark your calendar for one of the collection events happening throughout the month
  • You can also donate cash or buy and ship toys to KGW Studios, directly from Amazon
