Regence insurance plans receive high Medicare quality grades from CMS

At Regence, we are focused on our members. Our goal is to continuously improve our plans and offerings so that our members get the care and service they deserve. Our Medicare Star Ratings are no exception. We are really proud that all Regence plans earned a 4 Star or higher rating when the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently announced the 2016 results. Behind each rating measure, is the face of a member and these numbers reflect our commitment to continuous improvement for better member health outcomes.
This year, we made significant gains in pharmacy metrics, including improvements to managing high-risk medications, and measures for diabetes care and controlling blood pressure. We also achieved a 5-Star rating for cholesterol and hypertension adherence. The gains also were highlighted in an AIS Report article last week.
We’re also significantly expanding member education efforts to ensure that members take advantage of all the preventive care and screenings available to them. This includes reminder phone calls to members for screenings and preventive appointments, nurse case managers engaging members and coordinate care.
We are not stopping there. We are leveraging innovative, industry-leading technology, including predictive modeling, to tailor treatments more specifically for members. For our 2017 ratings we are expanding our disease management and care coordination programs, depression screening and promoting a greater focus on healthy lifestyle practices. We look forward to continue building on our Star ratings and helping improve the health care experience and health outcomes for all members.
