Leaders from Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon recently hosted a town hall with employers, brokers and other community members in Salem to discuss ongoing contract negotiations with Salem Health.

More than 60 people attended Thursday’s meeting, where health plan president Angela Dowling talked about how Regence is supporting members and why it’s standing firm in negotiations to ensure affordable, high-quality care.

“Our role is to negotiate the most competitive contract we can to keep health care affordable on your behalf,” Dowling said. “Every day we hear from employers and individuals alike that cost is top of mind for you. We’re continuing to actively work to secure a deal that achieves affordability and quality care for the Salem community."

Attendees were engaged and asked questions about access, affordability and customer support. Regence leaders also shared news about a no-cost transportation service for affected members with individual or employer-provided insurance to help them access other in-network facilities. More details will be shared in the coming weeks, with the service going into effect if Salem Health chooses to leave Regence’s network on July 1.

Members with questions can reach Regence’s award-winning customer service professionals at the number on the back of their member ID card. We’ll continue to offer updates on our progress as we have them.
