Regence was recently named a 2018 Outstanding Corporate Innovator Award finalist by the Product Development and Management Association (PDMA). This is a global award that recognizes sustained and quantifiable business results from new products and services. Past finalists include companies such as Starbucks, Xerox, Harley Davidson and DuPont.

Giving employer groups a competitive advantage

The recognition was specifically for Regence’s Commercial Products Team, which develops health plans, benefits, and other insurance products for employer groups. PDMA cited Regence’s success in providing small groups with the kinds of product options usually available only to larger groups. This helps small employer groups make health care coverage a competitive advantage for hiring and retaining employees. New 2018 products have gained more than 8,000 consumers through August, and more new products are slated for 2019.

The PDMA entry required an all-day site visit where the team detailed Regence’s innovation practices over a three-to-five-year period, as well as how teams like Sales, Actuary, Customer Experience, Innovation Force and others partner to drive innovation.

“We’re honored to be recognized for our results around practical innovation,” said Bill Bradley, vice president of commercial products. “It’s a true team sport that brings together the best from a number of partner organizations throughout Regence.”
