Test and Treat 2022

The federal government recently announced a nationwide Test to Treat initiative that provides quick access to free COVID-19 treatment at participating pharmacy-based clinics, a pharmacy location that has an urgent-care clinic in or near the pharmacy. The program is intended to be a one-stop-shop to simplify and speed up access to care for COVID-19. People can get tested at participating sites or bring an at-home COVID-19 test result and, if they test positive for COVID-19 and would benefit from an oral treatment, they can receive and fill a prescription all at one location. The participating sites include pharmacy-based clinics, federally qualified health centers and long-term-care facilities.

You can still be tested and treated by your own health care provider who can appropriately prescribe the oral antivirals, but it may not be all in one stop.

The locations of the participating sites are nationwide. The federal government has information about the Test to Treat initiative and where to find a participating site available online or you can call 1-800-232-0233 8 a.m. to midnight Eastern time.

Whether you’re looking for ways to treat and prevent COVID-19, or if you have any health care-related questions, it’s best to speak with your primary care provider (PCP).
