PORTLAND, Ore. – Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon named Angela Hult director of business and community relations for the state’s largest non-profit health insurer. In her new role, she leads the company’s efforts to build strong relationships with employers, business and civic leaders, and community groups across Oregon.
“Angela’s expertise in developing strategic partnerships, combined with her commitment and passion for community relations and service, makes her the ideal person for this role,” said Jared Short, president of Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon. “She will continue to build on the foundation that Regence has created through 70 years of service to communities across our state.”
Previously, Angela oversaw all media relations efforts for Regence, including regional and national media. She began her career in Taipei, Taiwan, where she worked in public relations and advertising for Sheraton Corporation. After returning to the United States, she settled in Portland, Oregon, where she has worked for some of the region’s largest companies in the areas of media, community and investor relations.
Angela currently serves on the Governing Board of Albertina Kerr Centers, Oregon’s fifth-largest nonprofit, and the national Board of Directors for the Coastal Conservation Association, based in Houston, Texas. She also chairs the marine conservation organization’s Government Relations Committee for the Pacific Northwest. She is a graduate of the Portland Business Alliance Leadership Portland program and remains active in the PBA.
A graduate of Pacific Lutheran University, Angela has a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications and minors in Asian Studies and Marketing.
