Regence Foundation to award $50,000 Sojourns Award

PORTLAND, Ore. – Do you work in health care and have a colleague doing amazing work in end-of-life care? If so, then here’s an opportunity to recognize the person or organization behind that care.

The Regence Foundation is accepting nominations for its fourth annual Sojourns® Award. The $50,000 award recognizes leadership in palliative care, a medical specialty that focuses on reducing the pain and suffering associated with serious disease and providing patients and families with an extra layer of support.

The Foundation is seeking nominations for individuals or nonprofit organizations that are working to advance the availability, quality and understanding of palliative care in their communities. The deadline for nominations is April 13, 2012.

The Sojourns Award is part of The Regence Foundation’s effort to promote access to palliative care in Idaho, Oregon, Utah and Washington, and create thoughtful conversations about end-of-life issues.
