BOISE, ID.  – Regence BlueShield of Idaho announced today its eligible members with individual and small group plans will have the option of renewing their existing health care policies for 2014.  Individual and small group plans were scheduled to begin to be discontinued on January 1 as they renewed in accordance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

“With the ongoing changes in the health care system, we are standing beside our members by maximizing their health care options while keeping individuals and business owners informed on the latest changes and options,” said Scott Kreiling, Regence BlueShield of Idaho President.

Members can learn more about their coverage choices with Regence or other options available through Your Health Idaho.   Individual members who are eligible and decide to renew their current plans with Regence do not need to take any action; however if they chose a different plan, they must notify us by Dec. 31. Small group members must notify us by January 5.

Eligible members will receive new letters from Regence informing them of their plan renewal options, as well as alternative coverage options, including subsidy-eligible plans with the full benefits and consumer protections of the ACA.
