SALT LAKE CITY — Jennifer Cannaday, a 13-year employee with Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah, has been named Market Vice President for the company.
 
Cannaday most recently served as Regence’s four-state Director of Legislative and Regulatory Affairs.
 
In her new role, Cannaday will be responsible for driving critical business development activities and community affairs, as well as facilitating collaboration and coordination between the company’s leadership team and the Utah market.
 
“Jennifer has been instrumental in developing relationships for our company by working with legislators, governmental officials, civic groups and community leaders across Utah,” said Robert A. Hatch, President of Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah. “Her background in our industry and her knowledge of Utah will be invaluable as we continue to grow our company and serve the people of Utah as we have since 1942.”
 
In her 13 years with Regence, Cannaday has served as Associate General Counsel and Director of Public Policy in Utah, as well as her most recent position where she coordinated the company’s regional public policy efforts.

Cannaday joined the company in 1997 and has an extensive health insurance and policy background from previous positions held with Regence as well as with the U.S. Surgeon General’s Office, the Utah Department of Health and the Utah Attorney General’s Office Health Division.
 
She has served as the past president of the Utah Health Insurance Association and currently serves on the Board of Governors for the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Directors of the Regence Foundation, the Board of Trustees for the American Heart Association and is an avid supporter of Pioneer Theater Company. She holds a B.A. in political science and J.D. from the University of Utah.
