SEATTLE Beginning Jan. 1, 2016, individuals and families in Washington state will have access to more health insurance options as Regence BlueShield becomes available on the Washington Health Benefit Exchange.

By joining the Washington exchange, Regence can continue to expand its accountable health network partnerships across King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties and to offer a wide range of plan options to empower consumers to select a plan that meets their needs.

Regence is dedicated to providing consumers with affordable, patient-centered care. Its personalized health plans on the exchange are designed to offer value for consumers seeking a coordinated experience with lower premiums. Additionally, its simple language and design ensures the enrollment experience is easy to understand for everyone, including those who may be new to health insurance.

“Results from Regence’s recently launched accountable health plans show that patient-focused care not only improves the overall quality of care but also lowers cost,” says Regence BlueShield President Don Antonucci. “Everyone should have access to high-quality, affordable care and we’ve designed our health plan offerings on the public exchange to provide that.”

Regence public exchange plans offer unique features:

  • Coordinated network options with high-quality providers, including UW Medicine, EvergreenHealth Partners/Virginia Mason, Providence-Swedish Health Alliance, The Everett Clinic and MultiCare.

  • Gold, Silver, and Bronze plans with a tailored Accountable Health Network that gives consumers access to comprehensive benefits with an established provider. Additionally, Regence offers High Deductible Health Plans (HDHPs) that can be paired with a Health Savings Account and preventive dental coverage for adults.

For coverage starting in 2016, the open enrollment period is Nov. 1, 2015 – Jan. 31, 2016. Individuals may also qualify for special enrollment periods outside of this timeframe if they experience certain life events.
