SEATTLE — Regence BlueShield announced today that Michael Burton has joined the company as Vice President of Account Management for the organization’s public sector business. In this role, Burton will lead sales retention and growth strategy efforts and teams in the Washington market. He will work closely with Don Antonucci, president of Regence BlueShield as a member of the Washington leadership team.

Burton has more than 20 years of experience in developing strategy, leading teams and establishing key relationships across the public and private sector to support business objectives, increase revenue, and exceed membership growth targets. Most recently, he served as vice president of sales for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and has held various management roles of increasing responsibility with the organization since 1988.

Burton will be located in Regence BlueShield’s downtown Seattle office.
