Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon and KOBI-TV recognized for “Gotta Get Fit Video Challenge”

The Oregon Association of Broadcasters announced recently that Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon has received a 2011 Stars of Broadcast Advertising award for its Southern Oregon “Gotta Get Fit Video Challenge.” The campaign was led by Angela Hult, director of community and business relations at Regence, in partnership with KOBI-TV in Medford.

The goal of the challenge was to encourage teens to get active and inspire their peers and community to do the same through the creation of short videos about getting fit.

“We appreciate KOBI-TV’s partnership in making this campaign happen. We hope this award serves as motivation and encouragement to other Oregon businesses to support health education for Oregon’s youth,” said Hult.

A panel of local civic, business and health care leaders judged the video contest. They selected three finalists who won scholarship money for themselves and new fitness equipment for their high schools.

  • First Place: Austin Halvorsen, Henley High School
$2500 scholarship, $2500 for new fitness equipment at his school
  • Second Place: Lacie Dahl, Grants Pass High School
$1500 scholarship, $1500 for new fitness equipment at her school
  • Third Place: Scott Turner, Grants Pass High School
$1000 scholarship, $1000 for new fitness equipment at his school
