SALT LAKE CITY – Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah employees enjoy a healthy worksite, as recognized by the platinum-level award bestowed by the Utah Council for Worksite Health Promotion. This marks the seventh time the company has won this award.
The Healthy Worksite Award Program is the state’s premiere award in honoring the outstanding achievements of businesses and organizations that have employee health promotion and wellness programs. It acknowledges efforts to facilitate and encourage employee health, enhance productivity, and ensure healthy work environments. In addition to the platinum designation, Regence was also the runner up for the “innovation award” for a live stream workout program that was rolled out to employees who work from home.
“Walking the talk of good health and wellness is a part of our culture at Regence. We’re honored to be recognized for demonstrating that wellness is a sound investment in our employees and our community,” said Jennifer Danielson, president of Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah.
Criteria for earning the platinum-level award include having a program in place for five years, plus documenting six activities –including outcomes – in each of the following sections:
  • General Worksite
  • Environment
  • Nutrition
  • Physical Activity
  • Safety
  • Prevention
Utah Council for Worksite Health Promotion members make the award selection based on these criteria.  Regence has a workplace wellness program that fosters a culture of employee wellness at every stage of health. The program emphasizes physical activity and also features rewards for healthy food choices and programs for stress management, ergonomics, financial security and health awareness.
