Our health plans’ coverage of hepatitis B vaccinations remains unchanged
Today, the CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) voted to update their hepatitis B vaccine recommendations for newborns. The committee's recommendation limits the birth dose to infants whose mothers test positive for hepatitis B or have unknown status.
Coverage for our members remains unchanged through 2026. Our commitment to supporting our members and communities remains a top priority. We'll continue to cover hepatitis B and all preventive vaccines at 100% with no member cost-sharing, regardless of whether the vaccine is given at birth or during routine childhood immunizations.
