Video: Continuation of care for Legacy Health patients
As we continue our discussions with Legacy Health in hopes of keeping their providers and facilities in network for our members, we also are ensuring we are ready to help move members to alternative in-network care and partnering with providers that have capacity, including most of the major health systems in the Portland metro area.
In the above video, Regence Executive Medical Director Dr. Tracy Muday talks about continuation of care. Members with certain health conditions or undergoing certain types of treatment may be eligible to continue to receive services at Legacy facilities at in-network rates for a period of time. Some members might have received a letter from us about their eligibility. However, if you didn’t receive a letter and think you may need additional time for continuity of care, call us at the number on the back of your member ID card.
Eligible conditions include but are not limited to:
- Seeing a provider for a serious or complex condition, including certain chronic conditions
- Undergoing a course of institutional or inpatient care
- Being scheduled for nonelective surgery
- Being pregnant and seeing a provider for pregnancy-related care
- Being determined to be terminally ill
While we would prefer to keep Legacy in our network to minimize disruption, the continued care and health of our members, including many of our own employees, is important to us. If Legacy chooses to leave our network on April 1, our customer service and clinical teams are ready to help members find alternative care options.
