OHSU and Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon renew network agreement

Portland, Ore.

Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) and Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon today jointly announced a new agreement that will keep OHSU and its clinics, hospitals and healthcare professionals as in-network providers for Regence BlueCross BlueShield commercial members. This agreement includes OHSU Hospital and OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. Hillsboro Medical Center also reached a new agreement with Regence. The agreement does not include Medicare Advantage or Individual (Marketplace) networks for 2027.

OHSU and Regence worked diligently to reach an agreement while keeping patient care and affordability a priority. The agreement helps OHSU patients and Regence members continue accessing care from the healthcare teams they know and trust.

“OHSU believes that all Oregonians should have access to the best care possible,” said OHSU President Shereef Elnahal, M.D., M.B.A. “I’d like to thank Regence BlueCross BlueShield for reaching this agreement, which helps the state’s only comprehensive academic health center continue to offer advanced, high-quality care to their members.”

“We know our communities depend on reliable access to high-quality care at a cost that employers and members can sustain,” said Regence BlueCross BlueShield Chief Network Management Officer Zak Ramadan-Jradi, M.D., M.B.A. “That responsibility has guided our discussions with OHSU, and we appreciate their partnership as we worked toward an agreement that supports members, employers and the broader communities we serve.”

Regence and OHSU are updating their websites to announce that a new agreement has been reached.
