Regence BlueShield of Idaho is pleased to announce Adrean Cavener as director of Public Affairs and Government Relations. In this key leadership role, Cavener will oversee all Idaho governmental relations activities, including those with the executive branch, Legislature and Department of Insurance.

Cavener joins Regence with more than fifteen years of political and lobbying experience. Prior to joining Regence, she was executive director of the Greater Idaho Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, advocating for support and resources for people with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers. She has also lobbied for the American Heart Association, the Idaho Meth Project and United Way, and served as regional director for former Idaho Governor James Risch.

“Adrean is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of people and communities,” said Mark Ruszczyk, president of Regence BlueShield of Idaho. “Her policy experience, deep understanding of social determinants of health and strong relationships with leaders across the state will be invaluable in our efforts to create a more person-focused and economically sustainable health care system.”

Cavener holds a bachelor’s degree from Idaho State University and will graduate from Boise State University next year with a Master of Business Administration.

She is based in Boise.
