PORTLAND, Ore. – Regence and Wildflower Health today announced the launch of BabyWise, a pregnancy and parenting mobile app that connects Regence members to key maternity resources, health trackers and clinical health milestones. Wildflower helps clients personalize the healthcare journey for individuals by leveraging the power of digital health. Regence is a family of health plans in Oregon, Idaho, Utah and select counties in Washington, each an independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association dedicated to making health care better, simpler and more affordable.
The BabyWise app was developed exclusively for Regence health plan members. It easily and quickly connects members to resources like 24/7 nurse line support with click to call features, surveys for a healthy pregnancy and reminders for prenatal appointments.
Additionally, Regence BabyWise continues support of new parents with clinical to dos and voice-activated trackers for babies up to age two. Users can tell Amazon Alexa to track activities just for baby with the feeding and diaper tracker, just by using their voice.
“Our maternity nurses are dedicated to the health of you and your baby and the BabyWise app is an extension of that care that provides information and resources – any time, day or night” said Jamie Halstead, director of Regence care management. “Regence is dedicated to transforming health care by delivering innovative products to our members, and we’re proud to continue providing a digital health solution to them thanks to our partnership with Wildflower.”
Features both engage and inform users throughout their experience, and include:
- Click to call 24/7 nurse line support
- Healthy pregnancy surveys
- Personalized healthy pregnancy To Dos of each step in the pregnancy journey.
- Q-List to keep a list of questions to talk about with a doctor
- Ultrasound videos: What babies look like at each stage of pregnancy
- Health trackers for baby’s kicks and mom’s weight gain
After baby comes, support continues from pregnancy to parenthood. Baby has their own profile for new parents to learn about:
- Important clinical topics for newborns and young children from 0 to 2 years old like developmental milestones by age, literacy, dental health and nutrition
- Tips on challenges facing new parents, including postpartum depression screening
- Life hacks for new parents like sleep, first week with baby at home, swaddling and traveling
“We’ve enjoyed collaborating with Regence over the past four years to bring innovative digital health solutions to their members,” said Leah Sparks, Wildflower Health founder and CEO. “What started as mobile-enabled support for healthy pregnancies has now evolved into a trusted solution for growing families by simplifying healthcare and connecting families to the right support at the right times. This includes decision support to enable healthy choices throughout pregnancy and those important first few years.”
Regence serves more than 2.6 million members through Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon, Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah, Regence BlueShield of Idaho, and Regence BlueShield (select counties in Washington). Each health plan is a nonprofit independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.
