Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah has promoted Jennifer Olsen to director of account management. Olsen will expand her leadership role while providing strategic direction to the company’s highly regarded account executive team. She will continue to lead client retention and account management initiatives with a customer-first focus on developing long-term, mutually beneficial employer and agent relationships.
“At Regence, we work hard to develop collaborative relations with our clients as we help Utah employers to better ensure health and well-being in their workforces,” said Jim Swayze, president of Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah. “Jennifer brings enthusiasm, insights, and deep knowledge to her leadership role. As a result, our clients and the agents who are our business partners consistently report high levels of satisfaction, and we have very little turnover among the valuable members of her team.”
Through her career, Olsen has gained broad experience and expertise in health insurance, client retention, employee benefits development and sales. She is well known for her emphasis on customer service as well as evaluating business needs and developing innovative solutions to meet them.
“My goal is to further develop my team so they can continue to provide relevant and timely information to our customers and agents,” Olsen said. “I regularly encourage our account executives to identify barriers that our members and clients encounter and then present ideas on how to resolve them. I’m looking forward to supporting my team as we enhance the outstanding customer service we are known for at Regence.”
Olsen joined Regence nearly 16 years ago. Most recently, she served as the renewal manager for all commercial lines of business. She previously held the position of sales manager for the company’s mid-size line of business for two years and was senior account executive for eight years, where she was responsible for the service and retention of Regence’s largest and most complex accounts. Throughout her tenure at Regence, Olsen has sold and serviced both large and small employer group accounts.
“Jennifer is a proven leader who is pivotal to our goal of achieving long-lasting relationships with the employer groups we serve, to the ultimate benefit of employees and their families,” said Doug Boudreaux, vice president of sales at Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah. “Her expertise, caring attitude and focus on bringing effective solutions to our clients is invaluable to our team.”
After beginning her career in insurance in 1991, Olsen has served in various positions while working for agencies and carriers. She is a member of the Utah Association of Health Underwriters and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the University of Phoenix.
