Regence announces that its Medicare Advantage plan offerings earned strong Star Ratings from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) based on care quality and performance.

A measure of health plan quality, CMS Star Ratings* are based on approximately 40 different performance indicators that evaluate care quality and member experience. These annual ratings, which range from 1 (low) to 5 (high), help Medicare Advantage consumers and their families compare plans during the CMS Annual Election Period (Oct. 15 through Dec. 7) or when they become eligible for Medicare. CMS Star Ratings also provide data transparency and incentives to improve health outcomes and patient care quality. Achieving a rating of 4 stars or higher is confirmation that a health plan is performing above average compared to other plans.

Six of Regence’s Medicare Advantage PPO and HMO offerings earned 4 stars:
  • Idaho – HMO 4 Stars
  • Oregon – PPO 4 Stars, HMO 4 Stars
  • Utah – PPO 4 Stars
  • Washington – PPO 4 Stars, HMO 4 Stars
Each measure CMS uses for its Star Ratings aligns with one of five core areas: staying healthy with preventive screenings, managing chronic conditions, member experience, customer service, and drug safety and pricing accuracy.

Regence continues to showcase its exceptional customer service by scoring high in critical areas like addressing the needs of potential Medicare beneficiaries contacting Regence call centers.

“We strive for excellence in every area but find our strong customer service scores particularly meaningful because it means we’re meeting our members’ needs when they call, “says Kathleen Faulk, Regence’s senior vice president and general manager of government programs. “We continue to advocate for our members, and we remain committed to improving the performance and quality of our health plans.”

Regence continues to invest in the Medicare programs offered to members. For 2023, Regence expanded its Medicare benefits and coverage to include routine vision and hearing services at no cost. In addition, insulins are available at $35 or less, and most vaccines (like the one used for Shingles) are available at no cost. Learn about our 2023 Medicare Advantage plans.
